ADHD seminar October 5th

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is arguably the most over and underdiagnosed childhood disorder.  Characterized by difficulties focusing, being easily distractible and/or impulsive behavior, ADHD is sometimes difficult to discern from normal developmental behavior.  This seminar will help parents understand the diagnostic criteria for ADHD as well as the reasons why the disorder is sometimes misdiagnosed. You will learn: The best methods to assess ADHD, what testing should be utilized (versus what is often used), and how individualized treatment is assessed for effectiveness. Medications used to treat ADHD will be discussed, as well as how testing can detect subjects “faking bad” in order to gain a diagnosis to obtain stimulant medications that can be sold or abused. How to work with both mental health and medical professional to obtain the most efficient and effective outcomes.
